Starting Monday, November 17th, Chico Natural Foods Co-op will have pre-packaged items and ingredients for a Thanksgiving Day meal that you can purchase to help feed families here for the holidays.  Look for the signs in store, and know that your purchase and generosity will go a long way in helping local families have the Thanksgiving they might not otherwise be able to experience with their family.

American Red Cross Seeks New Disaster Response Volunteers in Butte County

TheAmerican Red Cross California Gold Country Region is recruiting passionate peoplefor critical volunteer roles in Butte County.

Among the high-prioritypositions the Red Cross seeks to fill is Disaster Action Team (DAT) member. DATmembers are trained volunteers who respond to disasters within their chapter’sjurisdiction. They provide immediate emergency services such as emergency food,clothing, and shelter assistance, and assist disaster victims in planning theirimmediate and long-term recovery.

DAT members are responsiblefor providing coverage twenty-four hours a day within their chapter’sjurisdiction. The role requires a compassionate heart and a willingness to helpneighbors in need. Free training is provided to equip volunteers with thenecessary skills to handle emergencies promptly and effectively.

Anyoneinterested in a volunteer role with the Red Cross is invited to stop by aninformation session on Monday, November 24, at the African American Family& Cultural Center, 3300 Spencer Ave. Oroville CA, 95966 from 4p.m. – 8 p.m. 

Alternately,would-be volunteers can sign up to join the Red Cross atredcross.org/volunteer.

The Paradise Art Center’s Art Show Spring Medley of Mediums will hold their Opening Reception on Saturday April 12.
The reception will go from 5 – 7 p.m. The Art Show will go until May 10.
Join your friends at the Paradise Art Center Wheeler Gallery 5564 Almond St. In Paradise. The reception is free to all. Refreshments and libations will be served.
Artists include Renee Chritenson, Jennie Myers, Christine McShane, Edith Areyta, Jeff Jenke, Enid Hewston.

·        Charlie Fest is a musical fundraiser to benefitRing 14 Chromosomal syndrome research. 100% of the proceeds go to Ring 14research.

·        There are fewer than 100 cases worldwide.

·        Excellent prizes and raffle giveaways thatinclude 5 guitars, 4 keyboards, a drum set,

·        PA system, and more.

·        Event day is March 28th, 2026, and itis being held at The Commons in Chico.

·        First 2 shows they raised nearly $11,000.00.

·        Band lineup is Co-Headliners Big Mo and the FullMoon and The Funnels of Chico.
