So there’s not an easy way to actually get into this, but I did want to say that watching all the crazy $#!+ in the various splinters of the media about COVID-19 has been bonkers, and I think as a few people are being tested in Butte County (as of this posting 7:53pm Monday March 9th 2020) it would be great if the bulk of information that’s being firehosed out wasn’t some version of either, “CORONAVIRUS IS A HOAX AND THE PEOPLE SPREADING IT DON’T LIKE THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE” or “CORONAVIRUS WILL BE THE END OF US ALL AND THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE THAT YOU DON’T LIKE ARE FAILING US ALL!” and as you hopefully feel neither of those are particularly helpful.
So seeing this video pop up in my YouTube feed, I was pleasantly surprised to actually get some level-headed information about the disease that’s dominated our headlines (both good/bad/insane/etc…)

So What Now?
So all that said, make sure you’re getting your information about COVID-19 from good sources. One of the (but not only) ways I’ve learned how to analyze sources is if they present themselves as factual, the language will not be chosen to primarily appeal to your emotions (anger/inspiration/disgust/sympathy/fear/hope/etc…)
Here in Butte County we have some good resources set up to compliment our national ones.
